[Saba Sports News] Malaysian online media “Exclusive News” revealed that a source from the Malaysia Badminton Association (BAM) informed them that officials from Malaysia’s Anti-Corruption Commission visited the Badminton Academy of Malaysia (ABM) in Bukit Jalil last week to inspect documents. BAM’s President Datuk V. Subramaniam and Secretary-General Datuk Kenny Goh may be summoned for questioning by the commission. Although the focus of the investigation is unclear, it is believed to be related to reports received about suspected misconduct at the Badminton Academy of Malaysia. Currently, representatives from BAM have declined to comment on the matter, neither confirming nor denying the visit by the anti-corruption officials. Historically, media had reported in 2014 that the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission met with BAM staff to investigate allegations of match-fixing in past world-class badminton tournaments. At that time, the Badminton World Federation confirmed that there were attempts to manipulate matches on the Malaysian side, prompting police action.
