[Saba Sports News] According to British media reports, the recent trend of young players at Manchester United expressing dissatisfaction through social media has raised concerns. Recently, Kobbie Mainoo’s brother, Jordan Mainoo, posted a photo on social media wearing a T-shirt with “Let Mainoo Play” printed on it, openly questioning head coach Rúben Amorim’s choices. Although the photo disappeared a few hours after being posted, it has been seen as a public challenge to the coach’s authority, and the player did not promptly intervene to stop it.Coincidentally, previous youth players Harry Amass and Chido Obi also expressed their dissatisfaction with Amorim’s public criticism during a press conference by posting cryptic rebuttals on social media, which they quickly deleted. This trend of passive-aggressive behavior appears to be growing. While some of Amorim’s remarks may have been inappropriate, the use of social media by young players to vent their emotions is viewed as immature and indicative of a lack of resilience.In addition to Mainoo, Alejandro Garnacho has also made subtle jabs at the coaching staff on social media on multiple occasions. Reports indicate that the new youth academy director, Torpey, and sporting director, Jason Wilcox, need to strengthen the cultivation of players’ professional standards and mental toughness while enhancing talent quality to meet the harsh challenges of professional football.
