Mignolet previously participated in the show and made it to the final. However, due to Brugge’s busy schedule, he will be forced to miss the final. In a statement on social media, Mignolet said, “Unfortunately, I will not be able to participate in the final of ‘The Smartest Person in the World’. The club has very important matches in the Champions League and league coming up, and while I would like to participate in the final, my primary job remains that of a football player.” From December 7 to 26, Brugge will face Mechelen, Sporting CP, Genk, St. Gilloise, and Westerlo. Currently, Brugge is second in the Belgian Pro League, trailing Genk by 4 points, and is ranked 22nd in the Champions League, sitting in the playoff zone.
