Currently, San Siro Stadium is owned by the Milan City Government, and both clubs using the stadium must pay 50% of ticket revenues to the city government. Previously, reports indicated that AC Milan and Inter were considering acquiring San Siro and its surrounding areas to build a new stadium for the clubs. In response, Mayor stated: “In this regard, I hope to defend the historic but beloved San Siro Stadium. We are moving towards a plan to build a new stadium next to San Siro. We hope to sell San Siro and the surrounding area before this summer. The good news is that AC Milan and Inter will cooperate again, as there are no other solutions. The cost of building a new stadium exceeds €1 billion, and it cannot be done if the two clubs do not cooperate.” However, with the decline and conclusion of Serie A, the possibility of Serie A teams building their own stadiums is gradually increasing. With the operations of the two Milan teams, they have already submitted plans for the new stadium to the city government.
