[Saba Sports News] Max Verstappen has a long-term contract with Red Bull Racing, but it is widely believed that the three-time F1 world champion will leave the team in the near future. For most of this year, Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff has been publicly pursuing Verstappen but has unfortunately been unsuccessful, ultimately opting to sign Andrea Kimi Antonelli to replace Lewis Hamilton. In response, six-time F1 champion Juan Pablo Montoya urged Aston Martin to quickly sign Verstappen. Montoya stated that Alonso is already 43 years old and could retire at any time, making him unsuitable for the team’s long-term development plans; Lance Stroll, being the son of team owner Lawrence Stroll, is also unlikely to leave. Only Verstappen can lead Aston Martin forward. Last month, Aston Martin successfully signed racing designer Adrian Newey, a key figure in Red Bull’s success in F1 history. Montoya believes that if Verstappen is offered the same treatment as Newey, he will join. In my opinion, if Verstappen chooses to sign with Aston Martin, even if he cannot win the F1 championship, it will bring significant commercial benefits to the team.
