[Saba Sports News] Philadelphia 76ers head coach Nick Nurse and forward Kelly Oubre Jr. expressed frustration over a no-call late in their team’s loss to the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday night. Both have been fined $50,000 by the NBA for their actions.
According to a statement from the league, Nurse was fined for “aggressively pursuing and verbally abusing game officials,” while Oubre was fined for “verbally abusing and directing an obscene gesture toward game officials.”
The incident occurred when Oubre took contact from Clippers star Paul George just before the game ended in Philadelphia’s 108-107 loss. Both Oubre and Nurse confronted the officiating crew, with Oubre visibly cursing during the altercation.
The no-call added to Oubre’s frustration during a challenging final possession, where he was blocked by Kawhi Leonard while attempting a drive to the basket. Now, Oubre faces a fine on top of his tough week.
