[Saba Sports News] The 2024-25 season promises excitement for the Chicago Bulls, even though immediate success might not follow.
The Bulls are fully embracing a youth movement by letting DeMar DeRozan leave in free agency and trading Alex Caruso for Josh Giddey. They are starting to rebuild their path toward contention.
Coach Billy Donovan is expected to implement an up-tempo style that suits the team’s young and athletic roster.
According to Darnell Mayberry of The Athletic, the Bulls will focus on speeding up their offense and shifting their defense to protect the 3-point line, addressing last season’s struggles in defending perimeter shots.
Rookie forward Matas Buzelis, praised for his passing and rim-attacking abilities, is a key player in this new approach. The Bulls also hope to improve defensively by using their athleticism to limit opponents’ 3-point opportunities.
Though the Bulls may not contend immediately, this season presents an opportunity to develop their young talent and set the foundation for future success.
While Zach LaVine and Nikola Vucevic remain from the previous era, the focus will be on emerging players like Coby White, Giddey, and Buzelis. Giddey, after a challenging season with the Thunder, is expected to take on a prominent playmaking role, while other young players like Patrick Williams, Ayo Dosunmu, and Dalen Terry will have a chance to step up.
