[Saba Sports News] A new favorite is emerging to land DeMar DeRozan, likely through a sign-and-trade agreement with the Chicago Bulls.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the Sacramento Kings are in sign-and-trade negotiations with the Bulls for DeRozan. Wojnarowski mentioned on “SportsCenter” Friday that DeRozan’s time in Chicago is definitely over, but a third team will need to be involved due to the Bulls’ reluctance to take on large salaries.
“There are some other scenarios for DeMar DeRozan, but I think Sacramento right now is the team to watch,” Wojnarowski said.
The Kings, who emerged as a dark horse suitor for DeRozan earlier in the week, appear to have gained momentum. DeRozan would likely serve as a third option and go-to scorer alongside De’Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis as the Kings aim to make a significant impact in the Western Conference playoffs.
Recently, the Kings have been consistently seeking a third option to strengthen their roster. DeRozan may be their best path forward at this point.
