[Saba Sports News] According to the latest reports from Brazilian media, Brazilian football star Neymar Junior’s father recently acquired the Pele brand for $18 million through his holding company, NR Sports. The acquisition includes comprehensive rights, such as the use of Pele’s image, exclusive naming rights, global product licensing, personal historical collections, and derivative IP development rights. NR Sports will fully take over the subsequent development and operation of these assets. This acquisition represents a powerful union of two major football IPs – Neymar and Pele. Pele symbolizes the legendary history of football, while Neymar is currently one of the sport’s top stars. By combining the two, the Pele brand can leverage Neymar’s influence to reach younger audiences and further enhance the popularity of Brazilian football. Moving forward, NR Sports plans to launch Pele-themed documentaries, football academies, public training camps, and other content. They will also disseminate Pele’s story through formats popular among young people, such as mobile game cards and animated shorts. This commercialization approach serves as a bridge for passing down football culture, ensuring Pele’s legacy is no longer confined to textbook descriptions. It is worth mentioning that both players started their careers at Santos FC – Pele is an icon of the club, while Neymar is a superstar developed through Santos’ youth academy.
