[Saba Sports News] Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves have ended their best season in two decades after losing to the Dallas Mavericks in Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals. Edwards emerged as a star, but the Timberwolves struggled with perimeter scoring against the Mavericks, who double-teamed Edwards effectively.
Former NBA shooting guard Nick “Swaggy P” Young shared his advice on X (formerly Twitter), suggesting the Timberwolves need another perimeter scoring threat. “T Wolves pls dnt trade nobody pls just go get a jordan clarkson or Poole party yall one hooper away from a ship and maybe you can get a tj McCollum to,” wrote Young. He referred to Jordan Poole and possibly CJ McCollum, emphasizing the need for a “microwave scorer” to support Edwards.
Despite the successful season, the Timberwolves face a tough Western Conference with teams like the Memphis Grizzlies expected to improve. Adding talent around Edwards could help, especially considering the team’s scoring struggles against the Mavericks. With another year of experience, Edwards will likely improve at handling double teams, but adding another scorer could alleviate some pressure and enhance their championship prospects.
