[Saba Sports News] Recently, the English Football Association officially announced that Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis has been banned for 5 matches due to misconduct. Marinakis was accused of inappropriate behavior during the match between Nottingham Forest and Fulham on September 28, but he denied the allegations. However, an independent regulatory committee found the claims to be true and imposed a five-match ban. In that match, Nottingham Forest had two penalty appeals denied, while Fulham won 1-0 with a penalty. After the match, Marinakis confronted the referee in anger. It is worth mentioning that Marinakis’s ban is the second-longest in the history of English football; previously, Leyton Orient chairman Francesco Becchetti was banned for six matches due to violent behavior. Additionally, Nottingham Forest head coach Nuno Espirito Santo and midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White were found to have used abusive and/or insulting language towards match officials during the game against Brighton. Nuno was banned for 2 matches and fined £55,000, while Gibbs-White was banned for 1 match and fined £20,000.
