[Saba Sports News] Philadelphia 76ers forward Kelly Oubre Jr. showed his frustration on Wednesday following his team’s narrow 108-107 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pa.
Oubre was particularly upset with the referees for not calling a foul on his game-ending drive to the basket, where he encountered contact from Clippers star Paul George just before the final buzzer. Both Oubre and head coach Nick Nurse believed a foul should have been called.
Despite the game’s conclusion, Oubre and Nurse confronted the referees, with Oubre expressing his displeasure with some colorful language directly to their faces.
In addition to the no-call on the final play, Oubre had a challenging few seconds against Clippers, including being blocked by Kawhi Leonard on a drive with five seconds left.
The Clippers had a balanced scoring effort, with seven players scoring in double figures, led by George’s 22 points. Meanwhile, Oubre contributed 17 points and 11 rebounds for the Sixers.
For Oubre, the loss may have been compounded by the reception he received from his former fans in Philadelphia, as he was relentlessly booed in his return to the city.
