Sports News] According to reports from German media, Schalke 04 recently signed
French defender Soppy on loan during the winter transfer window. However, Soppy
quickly became the center of controversy among Schalke 04 fans due to a photo
posted on his social media. The photo in question depicted an individual who
appeared to resemble Soppy wearing the jersey of Borussia Dortmund, Schalke’s
fierce local rivals. This action was met with strong dissatisfaction among
Schalke fans, as supporting Dortmund is strictly prohibited among Schalke
supporters. The photo was reportedly posted on Soppy’s personal page in 2021.
It featured a person with similar blond hair to Soppy’s, bearing a striking
resemblance to him. In response to inquiries from German media, Soppy stated
that he was not the person in the photo and that he had only shared it because
it involved a friend who is a rapper. It is worth noting that Soppy was playing
for Rennes Club at the time the photo was taken, and Dortmund were aware of its
existence but did not seriously consider signing Soppy.
