[Saba Sports News] Earlier, the qualifying session for the 2025 F1 Dutch Grand Prix concluded. Ultimately, both McLaren drivers successively set new lap records for the Zandvoort circuit! Oscar Piastri finally took pole position with a time of 1:08.662, beating his teammate Lando Norris, who topped all three practice sessions, by 0.012 seconds, placing second. Regarding this, Piastri said: “That’s what you call peaking at the crucial moment. I felt good the whole weekend, there were just a few corners where I couldn’t go faster. I didn’t actually improve speed in those corners, but found gains elsewhere. I’m super happy with this result. I thought this weekend might be tricky, so I’m particularly excited to get this result.” When asked about turning the situation around, Piastri said: “You just have to keep working to improve. Having more practice runs is an advantage. I improved further on areas that were already good, making up the gap that way. Of course, there are still areas to improve, but overall, I’m very satisfied.” Looking ahead to the race, Piastri stated plainly: “We want to beat each other every week. There are many variables in the race that can affect the outcome, so we’ll see what happens tomorrow.”
