[Saba Sports News] According to Spanish media reports, the Madrid prosecution is seeking four-year prison sentences for four members of the extreme fan group “Frontline Atletico” of Atletico Madrid. These four individuals are accused of hanging inflatable dolls on a highway bridge in Madrid in January 2023, which targeted the dignity of Real Madrid player Vinicius Junior, showing clear contempt and rejection of his skin color. The trial will begin on Monday at the provincial court in Madrid. The prosecutor charges the defendants with crimes under “offenses against fundamental rights and public freedoms” that involve infringing on personal dignity, as well as another threat charge. At the same time, the prosecution demands that the defendants pay civil compensation for the spiritual damage caused to the player in the amount of 6,000 euros. According to the indictment, the four young men all belong to the extreme fan organization known as “Frontline Atletico,” which is clearly associated with far-right forces ideologically. The judge pointed out that such behavior “further exacerbates the infringement of protected rights, specifically the damage to individual dignity,” targeting not only specific victims but also groups they represent in this case.
