[Saba Sports News] Recently, the main structure of the China Badminton Association Qingdao Training and Competition Base, built by China Construction Eighth Engineering Bureau, has been fully completed. The project is expected to be completed in 2026 and will become a training and competition venue for the Chinese national badminton team. According to the information, the project is located in the West Coast New Area of Qingdao, covering a total area of 59,800 square meters. It includes three functional areas: training hall, dormitory, and scientific research office. It has a total of 72 standard badminton courts and features facilities such as strength training and a spa center. It can accommodate 360 athletes, coaches, and related staff. It is a comprehensive sports training base that integrates competitions, training, scientific teaching, medical rehabilitation, and mass fitness. Once completed, the facility will be able to host international top-level badminton events. During the off-seasons of the Chinese national team, it will also be open to the public, and is expected to promote the high-quality development of Qingdao’s competitive sports, mass sports, and sports industry. It holds great significance for Qingdao’s efforts to build the city’s “Sports City” brand.
