[Saba Sports News] Lewis Hamilton’s performance in his first season with Ferrari has been underwhelming, a fact that is undeniable. However, recent harsh criticisms from Ralf Schumacher have sparked controversy due to their inaccuracy. In an interview with German media, Schumacher suggested that Hamilton has shown a tendency to overlook issues during this difficult season, seeming unwilling to address any problems.
This claim contradicts Hamilton’s own public statements. This year, Ferrari has faced a challenging season, failing to secure a single victory, and Hamilton has not reached the podium once; he himself acknowledged that he did not perform well at the beginning of the season. However, Hamilton’s actions seem to contradict Schumacher’s assertions. From the start of the season to the Qatar Grand Prix, Hamilton repeatedly emphasized that he has been actively pushing for changes within the team. During the break between the British and Belgian Grand Prix, Hamilton submitted several technical and operational improvement documents, stating that this was his responsibility.
In my view, criticizing Hamilton’s on-track performance is reasonable and objective; however, to accuse him of inaction is completely inconsistent with the effort he has demonstrated throughout the season, making Ralf Schumacher’s critique clearly inappropriate.
