[Saba Sports News] 21-year-old F1 driver Franco Colapinto is being pursued by multiple F1 teams, and his future has become a perennial topic in F1 news media. Despite Red Bull having its own academy drivers available, signing Colapinto has become the team’s top priority. Team CEO Christian Horner has been keen to replace the underperforming Sergio Perez with Colapinto, as the Mexican driver has only earned 6 points in the last 10 races, making his future at Red Bull more uncertain than ever. In a recent interview, Horner openly discussed Perez’s failures, pointing out that Liam Lawson and Colapinto are both viable options for the 2025 season. Horner’s team is reportedly in deep negotiations with Williams F1 Team regarding Colapinto. Currently, Williams is only willing to send Colapinto to another team on a “loan” basis, meaning he would eventually return to Williams after some time. Red Bull is clearly uninterested in this arrangement, and negotiations could continue until the end of 2024.
