[Saba Sports News] According to Italian media reports, the Lombardy Region Administrative Court rejected the Milan city government’s appeal against the Supervisory Authority’s injunction, ruling that the San Siro Stadium must not be demolished. Previously, both AC Milan and Inter, along with the city government, had considered demolishing San Siro and constructing a modern stadium on the original site. However, the Ministry of Culture and the Bureau of Archaeology, Fine Arts, and Landscape Supervision of Milan, Italy, imposed a ban on constructing new stadiums within the second ring road of Milan, which includes the San Siro Stadium. Consequently, the plan to demolish San Siro was abandoned, and both AC Milan and Inter are now exploring options to build new stadiums in other areas. The Milan city government had appealed to overturn the ban, but the Lombardy Regional Administrative Court announced this week that the appeal would not be accepted, thus confirming that San Siro must remain intact.
