[Saba Sports News] The Sauber F1 team will establish a new base in the UK in preparation for its transition to an Audi factory team in 2026. However, the team’s headquarters will remain in Hinwil, Switzerland; it will continue to develop power units in Nurburgring, Germany. The new base is set to be located in the “Motorsport Valley” of the UK, an area covering southeastern and central England, currently home to seven F1 teams. Some media speculate that Sauber hopes to attract talented technical personnel working in teams near Silverstone. This new technical center is expected to open this summer, allowing newly recruited staff to remain in the UK. Additionally, not having to relocate overseas will reduce the team’s operating costs. Mattia Binotto, CEO and Chief Technical Officer of Sauber Motorsport, expressed his pleasure in establishing the technical center in the UK, which will continue to lead the team’s main technical operations and form a larger team.
