[Saba Sports News] In the men’s singles final of the 2025 China Open, Shi Yuqi overcame his young teammate Wang Zhengxing in a three-set battle with a score of 2-1. This was Shi Yuqi’s first title at the China Open. By winning back-to-back titles at the Japan Open and China Open, he also returned to the top of the latest world rankings in men’s singles. With the trophy from the China Open, Shi Yuqi completed the set of Super 1000 titles on the BWF World Tour. A year ago, he was at the low point after being eliminated in the quarterfinals of the Paris Olympics, and he was knocked out early in the 2024 China Open. A year later, Shi Yuqi came to Changzhou with the glory of the Japan Open. Over the past year, he has experienced ups and downs, but now his mindset is more stable. Even after suffering from gastrointestinal issues for months following his win at the All England Open, he managed to overcome them and went on to win both the Japan and China Open titles. On the court, Shi Yuqi demonstrated his technical ability and physical condition have returned to their peak. With less than a month until the Paris World Championships, the Paris event a year ago left Shi Yuqi with tears of regret. A year later, he is eager to prove himself again, but after the experience of the Paris Olympics, he is now more focused on the present.
