[Saba Sports News] The Golden State Warriors have made notable roster changes this offseason but continue to see Stephen Curry as a key part of their future.
On Thursday, Curry agreed to a 1-year, $62.6 million extension with the Warriors, as reported by his agent to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. The new contract keeps Curry with the team through the 2026-27 season. At 36, it’s uncertain if Curry will play beyond that.
Entering his 16th NBA season, Curry averaged 26.4 points per game in 2023-24 and remains an elite player. He also made a significant impact at the Paris Olympics, where he won his first gold medal with Team USA.
Despite losing Klay Thompson in free agency, the Warriors are still committed to contending for championships. While Curry recently discussed the possibility of staying with the team through a rebuild, his new extension suggests that’s not a concern for him right now.
