[Saba Sports News] Stephen Curry has witnessed firsthand how the Warriors’ ownership transformed the team from struggling to becoming an NBA dynasty during his 16-year career. As he approaches the later stages of his playing days, Curry has openly discussed the possibility of becoming an NBA team owner, drawing inspiration from Warriors owner Joe Lacob’s success.
“I’ve seen [Michael] Jordan do it, and there are others in the league preparing for when the NBA might expand. It’s definitely something I’m interested in,” Curry said. “I think I could help sustain the greatness of the NBA, using what I’ve learned about running a championship organization. Lacob and Guber have shown how treating players first class leads to success.”
However, Curry reassured Warriors fans that his focus remains on his playing career. “I still have a lot to accomplish on the court before thinking about ownership, but it’s definitely on my radar.”
Entering his 16th season in 2024-25, Curry, at 36, remains one of the NBA’s top players, averaging 26.4 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 5.1 assists last season, despite the Warriors falling short of the Playoffs for the third time in five years.
