[Saba Sports News] According to reports from South Korean media, the investigation by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism into the Korean Badminton Association is nearing its conclusion, with the final results expected to be released in October. Notably, South Korean badminton star An Se-young publicly criticized the association for its management of athlete injuries and training systems after winning the women’s singles gold medal at the Paris Olympics, sparking a public outcry in South Korea. Following this, the Korean Badminton Association was promptly investigated by the Ministry. During the investigation, An Se-young revealed numerous issues within the association. She disclosed that since 2022, she had been pressured by the association to participate in tournaments and internal selection events while injured. Additionally, her trusted coach Han Soo-jin was not renewed by the association after her contract expired, preventing her from accompanying An in her Olympic journey. Furthermore, An revealed that for seven years in the national team, she was responsible for various chores, including repairing broken racket strings for senior players, cleaning rooms, and even washing some seniors’ underwear. These details have caused a stir in public opinion.
