Yesterday, German media AMuS predicted that after Cadillac, F1 will see further expansion, estimating that a 12th team will emerge within five years. Current regulations allow a maximum of 12 teams in F1, and F1 does not want to exclude another applicant, especially if that applicant is Toyota. In the coming years, Toyota will become a technical partner with Haas F1 Team and may establish its own factory team. Former Toyota F1 driver Ralf Schumacher stated in an interview with Sport1 that F1 has become a cash cow, and many teams want to join in to make profits. Fans noted that Cadillac Racing will pay a 450 million dilution fee to compensate the other 10 teams for becoming the 11th team, as Cadillac’s entry changes the prize distribution from 10 teams to 11. If Toyota becomes the 12th F1 team, it is expected that the dilution fee could exceed 600 million.
