[Saba Sports News] According to British media reports, two Argentine social media influencers have been arrested for trespassing at a World Cup stadium and face up to five years in prison. Argentine YouTube creators Beni Marmol and Pato Perotta are currently detained at the Miami-Dade County Corrections and Rehabilitation Department jail. The pair are accused of attempting to gain entry to Hard Rock Stadium using expired credentials during the match between Colombia and Portugal. They managed to pass several security checkpoints with passes from an earlier fixture before being caught. Twenty-year-old Marmol and Perotta, residents of Buenos Aires, boast hundreds of thousands of followers across YouTube and Instagram. A judge ruled there was probable cause to proceed with the case and set bail at $2,500 for each defendant. As of Sunday afternoon, the two remained in custody, with their inmate records still accessible on the jail’s official website.
The editor believes that under Florida state law, unauthorized entry into a sporting event with an attendance of over 5,000 spectators carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $5,000 fine. Penalties have been further tightened following the riots at the same stadium during the 2024 Copa América final between Argentina and Colombia.
