[Saba Sports News] New details have emerged about Memphis Grizzlies forward Jaylen Wells following his frightening fall during Tuesday night’s game.
Wells has been released from the hospital just a day after being stretchered off the court against the Charlotte Hornets at Spectrum Center. Thankfully, the rookie avoided the worst-case scenario.
According to his agent Aman Dhesi (via Shams Charania of ESPN), Wells suffered a broken wrist and will be out for an “extended period of time” — but no further injuries were reported.
Given how brutal the fall looked, that’s a relief.
Initial updates from both Wells and his father late Tuesday were positive, though it was clear he took a hard hit.
Wells has been one of Memphis’ bright spots this season. The second-round pick has worked his way into the starting lineup and is averaging 10.4 points and 3.4 rebounds per game — a solid debut campaign that’s now on temporary pause as he recovers.
