It is reported that Varane will support the club’s youth development efforts and will integrate his experience and leadership into nurturing young talent. Additionally, Varane will provide advice on product development for the club. Varane signed a two-year contract with Como in July 2024 but suffered an injury in the 23rd minute of his debut in the first round of the Coppa Italia. In September this year, Varane announced his retirement on social media. Speaking about his new role, Varane stated: “Throughout my career, I have always pursued excellence. The transition from the pitch to the boardroom is not the end of my football journey; I look forward to a new beginning. Joining Como’s board allows me to continue contributing to this sport while shaping its future. It feels like I am starting a brand new phase in my career; I am not saying goodbye to football.
