[Saba Sports News] Liverpool recently announced the signing of Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen, with the total transfer fee reaching €136 million. British media disclosed details of the transfer deal, mentioning that Wirtz was deeply impressed by Liverpool’s training facilities last year. In November last year’s Champions League match, when Bayer Leverkusen lost 0-4 against Liverpool away, then manager Xabi Alonso asked his former club Liverpool if they could use Liverpool’s training facilities for recovery training the next morning after the game. Liverpool provided their U23 training field, where Leverkusen players conducted a light training session. It was reported that Wirtz walked onto the Kirkby training ground and was deeply impressed… Wirtz did not hide his admiration for Liverpool’s facilities, which placed Liverpool in a favorable position should they ever formally pursue him. The £50 million Kirkby base was built by Liverpool, covering 9,200 square meters with three full-sized pitches, along with goalkeeper training areas, warm-up zones, and various indoor facilities, including two gyms, a full-sized gymnasium, swimming pool, spa center, and professional sports rehabilitation area. Liverpool moved into the new base in November 2020.
