[Saba Sports News] On February 3, Yashasvi Jaiswal achieved a significant milestone by becoming the third youngest Indian to score a double century in international cricket during the second Test against England in Visakhapatnam.
The 22-year-old batsman played with caution initially but unleashed his potential once settled, scoring 209 runs and placing considerable pressure on the English team. Despite the English bowlers’ efforts to keep the Indian batsmen in check, Jaiswal’s performance was instrumental in India’s first-innings total of 396 runs.

Back in his hometown, Jaiswal’s monumental achievement sparked celebrations, with residents expressing their pride and joy through music, fireworks, and sweets. This accomplishment has highlighted Jaiswal’s growing stature in international cricket.
Following their victory in the first Test in Hyderabad, England entered the match with confidence in their batting line-up, ready to face India’s spin attack. However, India’s pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah stole the show with a remarkable display of bowling, claiming six wickets, including key players like Ollie Pope, Joe Root, and Jonny Bairstow. With Ravindra Jadeja absent from the second Test, Kuldeep Yadav seized the opportunity to contribute, taking three wickets, while Axar Patel added another to his tally.
England concluded their innings at 253 runs, leaving India with a 143-run lead. Indian captain Rohit Sharma and Jaiswal resumed batting on Day 2, aiming to extend their lead and tighten their grip on the match against Ben Stokes’ team. The focus now is on building a strong partnership to secure a victory.
