[Saba Sports News] Sauber F1 Team reserve driver Zane Maloney will transition from Formula 2 to the Electric Formula Championship in 2025. He joins Lola Yamaha ABT Electric Formula Team, partnering with Lucas di Grassi. Till Bechtolsheimer, chairman of Lola Cars Ltd., expressed his warm welcome for Zane joining the team for the upcoming electric formula season. He is a very talented young driver with great speed and unlimited potential, having demonstrated his abilities across various junior categories. Zane has already won the British Formula 4 Championship and finished second in the FIA Formula 3 Championship; he was also named FIA Rookie of the Year in 2022. Currently, this 20-year-old driver ranks third in the FIA Formula 2 Championship and serves as a reserve driver for Stake F1 Team KICK Sauber. Since 2023, Zane has also been a reserve and development driver for Andretti Team, gaining experience in electric formula racing and completing multiple tests.
