[Saba Sports News] Recently, “L’Equipe” discussed the growth story of Lille winger Edon Zhegrova, revealing that he once had a trial opportunity with AC Milan but could not attend due to visa issues. Zhegrova was born on March 31, 1999, in Herford, Germany, and returned to Kosovo with his family at the age of two. He began playing for the Flamurtari club at six, showcasing exceptional talent and becoming a source of pride for the club. He led his U13 team to win the Kosovo championship and received a trial opportunity with AC Milan, but could not attend due to visa issues. Zhegrova later joined Kosovo’s largest club, FC Prishtina, where he again won a national championship in the U15 category. Although Kosovo was not yet recognized by UEFA and FIFA at that time, Zhegrova chose to wait to represent the Kosovo national team due to the efforts of the late FA president Fadil Vokrri. Zhegrova scored the winning goal in his debut in March 2018 and has since represented Kosovo 42 times, scoring five goals.
