[Saba Sports News] The 17th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is set to commence on March 22, with anticipation building among fans and franchises alike. Among the teams generating considerable interest is the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), who are gearing up for the upcoming season with some notable additions to their squad.
One such addition is the talented Windies pacer, Shamar Joseph, who grabbed attention with his outstanding performance during the recent Test series against Australia at the Gabba. The 24-year-old was brought in by Lucknow as a replacement for England’s Mark Wood, who withdrew from the tournament due to workload concerns.
LSG welcomed Joseph in style, sharing a video on their social media platforms where the young pacer humorously responds to a question about the WiFi password with a reference to his memorable spell at the Gabba.
Despite facing some challenges, Lucknow Super Giants showcased commendable performance in IPL 2023, securing a spot in the playoffs. However, they fell short of reaching the final, finishing third in the standings with 17 points from 14 matches. As they prepare for IPL 2024, the team is determined to overcome the playoff hurdle and vie for the championship title.
Lucknow’s IPL 2024 journey commences with a match against the Rajasthan Royals in the fourth game of the tournament at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on March 24.
