[Saba Sports News] Real Madrid recently made an official announcement stating that Thibaut Courtois has suffered an accidental meniscus tear in his right knee during training. According to Spanish media reports, Courtois is scheduled to undergo surgery on Wednesday, and it is possible that his season may be cut short due to the injury. This comes after Courtois had already experienced a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee during training in August of the previous year. Just as he was nearing his return, the player has now sustained another significant injury. Carlo Ancelotti, the Real Madrid coach, had previously stated that Courtois was expected to make his comeback after the international break this month. However, his return has been further delayed as a result of tearing the medial meniscus in his right knee during training. Reports indicate that Courtois felt a tearing sensation in his knee during the training session. It is worth noting that he had previously undergone meniscus surgery on the same knee in 2015. Courtois, who is 31 years old, joined Real Madrid from Chelsea in 2018. He has made a total of 230 appearances for the club, including 49 appearances in the previous season. He is regarded as the team’s primary goalkeeper.
