Sports News] According to recent reports, the International Football
Association Board of Directors had approved the use of blue cards in football.
The new rule stated that if a player committed a serious foul that disrupted
the opponent’s threatening offense or showed protest to the game officials,
they would be shown a blue card and sent off for 10 minutes. However, the
introduction of blue cards faced strong opposition and criticism from the media
and football community. As a result, the plan to introduce blue cards has been
postponed. The International Football Association Board of Governors was set to
announce the introduction of blue cards, but the news has been delayed until
after the council’s annual meeting next month. This delay raises doubts about
whether blue cards will ultimately be implemented in football.
