[Saba Sports News] Steph Curry was on the brink of becoming the hero for the Golden State Warriors on Saturday, until LeBron James turned the tables in the game’s final moments.
The Warriors faced a narrow defeat in a double-overtime thriller, losing 145-144 to the Los Angeles Lakers at the Chase Center in San Francisco. Curry, a two-time MVP, left the court in evident frustration, tearing his jersey apart following the Warriors’ second one-point loss in a row.
Throughout the game, Curry was phenomenal, scoring 46 points, dishing out 7 assists, and hitting 9 three-pointers on 17-of-35 shooting. He played a crucial role in the final overtime, scoring 10 points including a go-ahead field goal that put the Warriors ahead by one with just over five seconds remaining.
The game’s climax seemed like it would glorify Curry, but James dramatically changed the narrative. In the last 5.2 seconds, James drove into the paint, drew a foul, and nailed two free throws, clinching the victory for the Lakers. James himself delivered an exceptional performance, securing a career-high 20 rebounds, along with 36 points, 12 assists, and those decisive free throws.
Despite Curry’s outstanding effort, the Warriors have been struggling lately, losing four of their last five games.
