[Saba Sports News] Kevin Durant recently addressed rumors about his alleged dissatisfaction with the Phoenix Suns, following a report in December. Speaking to FOX Sports’ Melissa Rohlin after the Suns’ 138-111 defeat to the LA Clippers, Durant confronted these speculations.
The original report by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski suggested Durant was unhappy with certain aspects of the Suns, including Bradley Beal’s injury issues and the team’s perceived lack of depth. However, Durant firmly dismissed these claims, stating that his words had been misinterpreted and that he had no desire to leave the team.
“I don’t want to get traded,” Durant emphasized to Rohlin. He clarified that he wasn’t upset about Beal’s injury or the Suns’ role players, calling such interpretations “ignorant.”
While acknowledging his frustration with the Suns’ performance, which might have affected his body language on the court, Durant made it clear that this did not imply a wish to leave Phoenix. He described the period following Wojnarowski’s report as “so trash” and labeled the rumors as mere speculation based on his demeanor.
Despite a hovering .500 season record and a recent loss to the Clippers, Durant has been a pivotal player for the Suns. In 30 games, he has averaged 29.6 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 5.9 assists per game, shooting 52.5% from the field.
