Sports News] According to Italian media reports, six Roma fans attempted to
bring fireworks into the stadium disguised as sandwiches, resulting in their
subsequent ban. During the 20th round of Serie A, Roma suffered a 1-3 defeat to
AC Milan in an away game. Italian media reports reveal that approximately 2,000
Roma fans traveled with the team to spectate the match. Among them, a group of
fans tried to smuggle fireworks into the San Siro Stadium by concealing them
within sandwich wrappers. However, their attempt was thwarted by stadium
security personnel who discovered the disguised fireworks. Subsequently, the
Milan Police Department announced the punishment for the six Roma fans involved
in the incident. Five of them received a one-year ban from attending football
matches, while the remaining underage fan was banned for 18 months. It is
important to note that in the recent Rome derby in the Italian Cup, fans from
both Roma and Lazio engaged in firing fireworks at each other, resulting in one
fan losing an ear. It is crucial to prioritize fan safety and enforce strict
penalties against individuals who disregard the rules.
