[Saba Sports News] Sai Sudharsan, hailing from Chennai, expressed his joy at receiving his maiden call-up from the BCCI selectors for the upcoming three-match ODI series against South Africa, commencing on December 17 in Johannesburg.
This marks a significant milestone in Sudharsan’s young career, and he shared his excitement while acknowledging the need for continuous improvement in various aspects of his game.
“It is a great feeling, and I am a bit lost for words. It is a dream come true for me, but at the same time, this is just the beginning, and there are many areas where I need to improve,” Sai Sudharsan said as quoted to Sportstar in an interview on Thursday.
Having showcased his prowess with the bat for the Gujarat Titans in the previous IPL season, Sudharsan amassed 362 runs at an average of 51.71 and a strike-rate of 141.41 in eight matches. Notably, his stellar performance in IPL earned him a contract with Surrey for the final three matches of the 2023 County Championship.
Reflecting on his valuable experiences gained from his county stint and participation in the IPL, Sudharsan credited these tournaments for contributing to his growth as a batter.
“I learned a lot playing in all these tournaments, and the exposure it has given me has helped me improve as a batter,” he added.
