[Saba Sports News] Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards exuded immense confidence after his team clinched Game 7 against the Denver Nuggets at Ball Arena, advancing to the Western Conference Finals for the first time in two decades.
Despite not having his best game performance-wise, Edwards’ confidence was undiminished, particularly in his trash-talking abilities which were on full display throughout and after the game.
As he was leaving the arena, Edwards engaged in banter with some Timberwolves fans, during which he made a comment about Nuggets guard Jamal Murray that could stir some controversy. “I had Jamal [Murray] in handcuffs,” Edwards declared, despite Murray scoring a game-high 35 points, significantly outperforming Edwards’ 16 points.
Nevertheless, the most critical figure was the final score, with the Timberwolves pulling off a 98-90 victory after overcoming a 20-point deficit.
Edwards also didn’t miss the chance to send a fiery remark to TNT analyst Charles Barkley, who seemed less than thrilled at the prospect of visiting Minneapolis. This blend of on-court performance and verbal assertiveness encapsulates Edwards’ impact on the series.
