Rod Boone of The Charlotte Observer reported that former Lakers assistant Chris Jent is joining the Charlotte Hornets. He will be part of new head coach Charles Lee’s staff.
Jent, 54, is a respected veteran with nearly two decades of assistant coaching experience across six NBA teams. He was let go after the Lakers fired head coach Darvin Ham, taking Jent and the rest of the staff with him.
The Hornets are building a strong team for Lee, their incoming first-year head coach from the Boston Celtics. Jent joins former Utah Jazz assistant Lamar Skeeter and former Chicago Bulls assistant Josh Longstaff on the Charlotte staff.
