(sabasports report)Greek club Panaathinaikos beat Spanish club Real Madrid 95-80 in the Euroleague final to win their seventh Euroleague title and pocketbook of 1.75 million euros.
Real Madrid dominated the opening period, scoring 36 points in the first quarter, but scored just seven points in the third quarter after going 0 for 9 from three-point range, leading to a three-point deficit going into the fourth. Panasinaikos, on the other hand, relied on 12 of 22 3-pointers to pull back from a 14-point first-half deficit.

Costas Slokas of Panasinaikos was named MVP after making 6 of 6 shots, 4 of 4 3-pointers and 8 of 9 free throws in 25 minutes in the Final Four. He had 24 points, two rebounds and three assists. Kendrick Nunn added 21 points, three rebounds and three assists. Jerian Grant had 11 points, six rebounds, five assists and two steals, and Juan Hernangimes had five points and four rebounds.

For REAL Madrid, RUDI FERNANDEZ played his last GAME of HIS career, playing 10 minutes of THE game. Musa added 15 points, five rebounds and four assists, and Campazzo had 12 points, two rebounds and four assists.
The game attracted a number of stars, including Greek star Giannis Antetokouno, German star Gerhard Schroder and NBA star Scottie Pippin, while Antetokouno’s younger brother Kosta Antetokounbo plays for Panasinaikos, adding extra spice to the game.
