[Saba Sports News] Over the weekend, Joel Embiid became the subject of numerous jokes.
The Philadelphia 76ers star made a guest appearance on CBS Sports’ coverage of the UEFA Champions League final between Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund. Embiid, a big Real Madrid fan, joined the “Champions League Today” pre-show alongside hosts Kate Abdo, Thierry Henry, Jamie Carragher, and Micah Richards.
Embiid’s appearance prompted a flood of social media jokes about this being the first time he had reached a final.
Embiid enjoyed the outcome as Real Madrid won 2-0, securing their 15th Champions League title. Dani Carvajal scored in the 74th minute, and Vinicius Junior sealed the victory in the 83rd minute.
Despite his MVP title in 2023 and playing with several All-Star teammates, Embiid has yet to reach the conference finals in his career. The 76ers aim to change that this offseason, exploring new potential star partners for Embiid.
