[Saba Sports News] According to British media reports, Manchester United may have to pay a higher compensation fee if they decide to dismiss Erik ten Hag, their current manager. This is due to Ten Hag’s successful tenure, which includes winning the FA Cup and securing a spot in European competitions. Initially, Manchester United finished eighth in the league and did not qualify for European competitions. However, their victory in the FA Cup final against Manchester City changed the situation, making it more expensive for Manchester United to terminate Ten Hag’s contract. If Manchester United had not qualified for European competitions, Ten Hag’s annual salary of £9 million would have been reduced by 25%, resulting in a decrease of £2.25 million to £6.75 million. However, since they secured a place in European competitions, Ten Hag’s salary will not be affected. Reports suggest that Manchester United’s management is currently assessing the season, and no specific timeline has been provided. Ten Hag is currently on vacation and is uncertain about his future. Manchester United’s first pre-season game is scheduled for July 15.
