[Saba Sports News] Philadelphia 76ers guard Cam Payne was arrested Friday morning in Scottsdale, Arizona, for allegedly not cooperating with police.
Scottsdale Police responded to a disturbance near 68th Street and Chaparral Road around 2:44 a.m. and found Payne with another individual. Payne was arrested and booked for allegedly refusing to give his name and providing a false report to police. He was released from jail shortly afterward.
The 29-year-old guard, who played for the Phoenix Suns from 2019-2023, was likely in the Scottsdale area for that reason. He joined the 76ers in February as part of a trade with Milwaukee for Patrick Beverley. Payne averaged 7.4 points and 2.6 assists per game in 78 games last season between the Bucks and 76ers. He was the 15th overall pick in the 2015 draft by the Thunder.
