[Saba Sports News] According to recent reports from French media, Chelsea player Malang Sarr has terminated his contract with the club in advance. In doing so, he waived the salary for the final year of his contract to become a free agent. Sarr has subsequently joined Ligue 1 team Lens. Sarr joined Chelsea from Nice four years ago and was loaned to Monaco in the 22/23 season, where he made 22 appearances. However, upon his return to Chelsea in the Premier League last season, he struggled to secure a starting position and did not get a chance to play throughout the season. Frustrated by the lack of opportunities, Sarr chose to terminate his contract and join Lens, where he hopes to regain his form with the experience he gained in Ligue 1 during his loan spell and his time at Nice. Lens sees potential in Sarr’s abilities, despite his limited playing time at Chelsea, and aims to strengthen their defense and improve their overall performance in the Ligue 1 league.
