[Saba Sports News] Will Luka Doncic win the 2024-25 NBA MVP? Former player Gilbert Arenas believes so. On his show, *Gil’s Arena*, Arenas expressed confidence in Doncic’s potential this season.
“I don’t want to put pressure on him, but I’d be surprised if he doesn’t average a triple-double,” Arenas said. He highlighted that with new teammates like Klay Thompson, some assists will come easily, making Doncic a strong MVP contender.
Doncic has come close to a triple-double before, averaging 33.9 points, 9.8 assists, and 9.2 rebounds in 2023-24. While increasing his assists is likely, grabbing an extra rebound per game could be a challenge.
Ultimately, Doncic is focused on leading the Mavericks to victories, but he’s certainly a top MVP candidate and could achieve the elusive triple-double season.
