The 5-11 guard is entering his third season with the team after Rain or Shine selected him in the second round of the 2021 PBA draft. He now plays a more important role in Coach Yeng Guiao’s system, sometimes as a starter, but more often as a key point guard down the road.
This was particularly evident in Elasto Painters’ 119-112 win over TNT Tropang Giga, a win that sealed Rain or Shine’s place in the Committee Cup playoffs. The former UAAP newcomer of the Year from De La Salle contributed eight of his 23 points in the fourth quarter and was part of the team’s 11-0 run down the stretch to completely turn back the opposition.
To secure the win, Caracut also added four assists and two rebounds as Rain or Shine staged a stunning comeback for their fifth straight win. The move came after the team suffered a five-game losing streak early in the season.
