[Saba Sports News] Former NBA coach Sam Mitchell had a tense exchange with his NBA TV co-host Chris Miles on Friday night.
During a segment previewing preseason games, including Kings vs. Warriors, Miles asked Mitchell about Steve Kerr not receiving a gold medal for coaching the U.S. Olympic team to victory. Mitchell responded by saying it shows how undervalued coaches are by the Olympics.
“It just tells you how they value coaches … not at all,” Mitchell remarked.
Miles fired back, suggesting, “I’m surprised coaches get a paycheck for this show. Maybe you should do it pro bono, my friend.”
Things turned personal as Mitchell commented on his own low pay at NBA TV and hinted that Miles, being wealthier, should work for free. The conversation circled back to money, with Mitchell joking about Miles’s supposed wealth and multiple properties, even mentioning an address of one in Florida.
Despite the bizarre exchange, the two managed to continue discussing the games, though Mitchell kept steering the conversation into personal territory. Clips of the heated exchange are available to watch.
