[Saba Sports News] Lakers guard Austin Reaves missed their recent 107-102 preseason win over the Bucks due to ankle soreness but may return soon.
Coach JJ Redick shared, “Austin participated in non-contact practice… he’s day to day and TBD for Tuesday’s game. We’re hoping any soreness from today subsides.”
Reaves played solidly in earlier preseason games, scoring 16 points with five rebounds and seven assists against the Timberwolves, and nine points with six rebounds against the Suns.
The Lakers continue preseason on Tuesday against the Warriors in Las Vegas and open their season on Oct. 22 against the Wolves.
Entering his fourth NBA season, Reaves has solidified his role as a starter, expected to handle top defensive assignments and contribute offensively.
Last season, he averaged career-highs with 15.9 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 5.5 assists, though he struggled with three-point shooting in the playoffs. As a dependable player alongside LeBron and AD, the Lakers will lean on Reaves for a successful season.
